The Craftboy

The Craftboy is Chuck Harper.

By day, he's a production manager for cartoon books and Mary Engelbreit calendars for Andrews McMeel Publishing (the book and calendar publishing division of the Universal Press Syndicate) and children's books for Accord Publishing with offices in the historic Boley Building at 12th and Walnut in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Before landing at AMP, he was production manager for Workbench, Fishing World, and Flower & Garden magazines. In his spare time he plies his crafty trade.

The Craftboy went to college at the University of Kansas and graduated with a degree in Journalism and an emphasis in Magazines in 1992. He grew up in Iola, Kansas, where he attended Iola High School and Allen County Community College.

Now, the Craftboy lives just south of the Plaza in the Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City, with his partner, Brian, and their two Lab-mix dogs, Daphne and Piper. The Craftboy Workshop takes up as much space as Brian will allow in the basement of their 1920's bungalow.
